It's very evocative, but what's the bird? And is the one he writes about the one in the picture?
It's a Trumpeter Finch, and yes it is the one in the picture.
Its a rare bird for the UK and has just turned up in Norfolk, presumably discovered by Joe, so its arrival is widely known amongst the UK's few thousand birders.
